Coal Creek Utility District Commissioner Pam Martin is the Washington Association of Sewer & Water Districts’ new treasurer.

General members elected her and she will serve through 2017, when she will be eligible to serve for another three-year term.

The Washington Association of Sewer & Water Districts represents the state’s special purpose water and sewer districts. There are 176 in the state. Special purpose sewer and water districts provide services to 25 percent of the state’s residents.

The association provides education and training for elected district commissioners and certified water and wastewater treatment plant operators. It also acts as a legislative advocate on issues relating to the water and sewer industry.
